Titanium

This reactive metal has been widely used in both the aerospace and the medical industries not only because of its excellent strength to weight ratio (titanium weighs ~60% of steel by volume), but also because of its extreme resistance to nearly all forms of corrosion and, in the case of the medical industry, its biocompatibility for implant applications.
