Several years ago we conducted a survey to determine where we could improve our business from the perspective of our customers. The message came back loud and clear: Be responsive to my business information needs by providing answers to quotes, open order status questions and order change requests quickly and accurately.

In response to this survey our entire process for responding to customer business information needs was overhauled. Today we measure all of the key customer responsiveness and performance activities against goals that our customers have told us we need to meet. As a result of customer feedback and improved processes, we have managed to achieve:

  • Over 96% on-time delivery performance on promise date
  • Standard practice of advanced notice in the event an order is running late
  • Sales reps organized by geographic region to be accessible to key customers within the region and to ensure adequate back-up to inside sales
