Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leads and communicates with the team daily
  • Focuses on improving quality, on-time delivery, and production efficiencies
  • Uses Reporting Tools to create detailed reports for executives
  • Continuously improves processes within the company
  • Decides the priorities and focus of the team
  • Learns continuously utilizing various resources
  • Tracks goals to make sure the team is achieving them

POSITION: Operations Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

What We’re Looking For:

We have an exciting opportunity to join a fun, employee-focused environment with a growing manufacturing company. Reporting to the Operations Manager are Manufacturing Technical Leads and associates on day shift, a Material Handling Manager, a Night shift Manufacturing Manager, and a Production Control Supervisor. You will lead a team of close to 70 associates.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • Ten or more years in a leadership role in a related field or industry
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to plan and manage manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Ability to drive operational excellence while supporting rapidly shifting business demands
  • Highly adaptive and capable of making quick decisions in stressful situations
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions including manufacturing, logistics, and employee management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred (or other related field), or equivalent experience

What You Can Expect (The Day-to-Day):

  • Lead and develop Boston Centerless’ Woburn operations with a focus on improving quality, on-time delivery, and efficiency
  • Focus on implementation of Lean Operations and Continuous process improvement and sustain initiatives in these areas.
    • Lead the Continuous Improvement Committee and spearhead the ideas board implementation
    • Devise strategies for implementation of process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs
  • Ensure continuous training of employees in job-specific skills and lean manufacturing principles
  • Develop and maintain a high performing culture where people strive for excellence
  • Assist in the hiring process, conduct performance reviews, recognize proactive behavior and address unacceptable behavior
  • Ensure workplace safety and accident avoidance
  • Communicate larger company initiatives to production employees and provide digestible big picture view and the impact on the individuals
  • Work proactively with maintenance and engineering departments to solve machine related issues and reduce downtime
  • Plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations of the material handling department to ensure inventory accuracy, efficient movement of material to operations and on-time delivery of shipments from Woburn and distribution centers
