Warehouse Manager (Woburn, MA)

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

SUMMARY:

  • The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing all material handling activities including, inbound and outbound freight, 3PL’s and coordination with manufacturing for inventory replenishment.
  • Additional responsibilities include mentoring and directing receiving, picking, packing, and shipping and driver teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily management of shipping and receiving, warehouse, distribution centers, transportation
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Troubleshoot and manage international freight transportation
  • Document procedures and processes related to Warehouse
  • Work with cross functional OPC, Materials and Manufacturing teams to trouble shoot inventory, PO and specification problems
  • Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce
  • Supervise receiving, picking, shipping and packing teams
  • Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments
  • Conduct daily, weekly cycle counts for inventory accuracy
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Reinforce the organization’s core values and behavioral expectations through conduct, communication and coaching.
  • Ensures compliance with safety programs and policies to ensure safe operations and compliance with state and federal regulations.

REQUIREMENTS/BACKGROUND:

  •  Extensive distribution and Warehouse management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff including at least 3+ years of supervisory experience.
  • BS related to Business, Logistics, Supply Chain etc.
  • Exposure to leading edge manufacturing techniques, including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in use of data-driven tools such as MS Excel, creating information for making decisions.
  • Demonstrated communication skills representing the company externally as well as clearly defined communication skills internally to company
  • Knowledge of domestic transportation industry including DOT and HAZMAT compliance regulations and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Basic accounting and budget processing skills
  • Travel may be required as necessary in an expanding business.

  • Someone with a strong coaching management style. This person will supervise, coach and train team members in the warehouse, shipping, and order preparation areas

  • Strong communication, speaking and presentation skills.
  • Has exceptional time management and organizational skills. This person will manage customer finished goods inventory and assure adequate stock levels are maintained at the appropriate stocking locations.
  • Meet cost, productivity, information accuracy and timeliness targets.
  • Documents procedures and processes related to logistics in a GMP environment.
  • Handles technical details related to international transportation such as customer, regulatory and any necessary documentation
  • Keeps track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Arranges warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.
  • Reinforces the organization’s core values and behavioral expectations through conduct, communication and coaching.
  • Ensures compliance with safety programs and policies to ensure safe operations and compliance with state and federal regulations.
